Tommy Thompson, Assistant Director, Clerk Division, to Arkansas State 
Convention in Fayetteville, June 1-3, 2000

"Tommy" (Thomas L. Thompson) formerly known as the Silver Fox from 
Detroit, 
Michigan, has been a member of the American Postal Workers Union for 45 
years 
and member of Detroit District Area Local the entire time.

Tommy has served as National Business Agent in the Central Region, 
representing Illinois and Michigan for 18 years before coming to 
Washington 
DC in November 1989.

Elected as Assistant Director "A" in the Clerk Division, Tommy was 
given the 
following contract articles to manage:  Article 1, Section 6.B, 
Articles 12, 
26 and 28.

Tommy will be retiring in November 2001 after 30 years as a National 
Officer 
of the APWU.

Tommy Thompson will be appearing and making a presentation at the 
Arkansas 
Postal Workers Convention, June 1-3, 2000, at the Hilton Hotel in 
Fayetteville, Arkansas.
